Dynamic Cupping
- Definition: Involves moving the cups across the skin while maintaining suction.
- Technique: The practitioner applies a lubricant to the skin and glides the cups over the area, creating a massage-like effect.
- Benefits: Enhances circulation, reduces muscle tension, and provides a stimulating sensation. It’s often used for broader areas and may feel less intense than static cupping.
Static Cupping
- Definition: Involves placing cups on specific areas of the body and leaving them in place for a certain period, typically 5 to 15 minutes.
- Technique: The cups create suction and stay stationary, allowing for prolonged treatment on targeted areas.
- Benefits: Helps with pain relief, muscle tension, and relaxation; effective for deep tissue work and localized issues.
Flash Cupping
- Definition: A technique where cups are applied and removed quickly, often within a few seconds.
- Technique: Cups are placed on the skin and then rapidly taken off, creating brief suction and release.
- Benefits: Promotes blood flow and can be used for quick relief of tension. It may also help stimulate the skin without the prolonged pressure of static cupping.
Each technique has its unique applications and benefits, so the choice depends on individual needs and treatment goals.
